Artist Biography

 Recording Artist, Kernel BENZ Stevens A.K.A MRGWADA was born in the caribbean island of DOMINICA. 
he was raised by his grandparents in a small rural village in the St. Joseph area known as layou.he started singing at the age of 9 and wrote his first song at 11.Raised in a christian home Benz was exposed to music by his cousin who played in the church band. 
After finishing high school he joined a local dancehall group called LICKLE BOY SOUN where he recorded his first song BRAINWASH .he later on release his debut album in 1998 entitled JUDGMENT wich basically launch his music career. He later left to join his father in guadeloupe(Gwada) where he developed a unique talent of writing and  singing in creole ,french and english. 
Known for his ability to perform different genres of music be it zouk  reggae r&b or bouyon,Benz definetly brings something unique to the music industry.He has released multiple albums and is known for song such as FEELING SICK,BAD BEHAVIOUR,PA LAGE' MWEN,SAW KIM, MIZIK A NOU,GWADA,I OKAY,RED KLINIC, FLASH DRIVE,BOUYON BIZNIZ,MIZIK A NOU, DOMINICA CARNIVAL  AND FOR MY CREW amongst others.Benz has performed internationally alongside top french and and english artist such as KASSAV,JEFFJOSEPH,DOMINIQUE COCO,PRINCESS LOVER,ADMIRAL T,SIZZLA,TURBULENCE,BOUNTY KILLA,BUJU BANTON,CAPLETON and others.In 2007 he appeared on the jamaican reggae compilation "SOULJAH RIDDIM" with a song entitled CALL ON JAH which also featured top jamaican artists such as LUTAN FAYAH,LOUIE CULTURE,TURBULENCE and others. Benz has worked with a range of music producers from the CARIBBEAN and EUROPE . He has presently team up with  FALUMA RECORD LABEL in germany who is responsible for distributing his music globally.Benz primary focus is to promote his island culture and heritage with his music. "MIZIK A NOU" a song produce by Dominicas own Dada Lawrence, is one of Benz more popular releases to date.This song speaks about the importance of supporting local.
