Bouyon Pioneers Featured At St. Lucia Jazz Festival 2015.

Bringing not only local but also international guests, St. Lucia’s Jazz and Arts Festival is a dream of every musician and music lover to visit.

Musicians and fans alike gather for a two week long musical immersion in St. Lucia, one of the most beautiful islands in the world.  This year’s St. Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival will conclude on the 17th of May.

Not just Jazz

Though originally branded as a strictly Jazz show, it has been evolving into a more diverse experience.

Since 2013, the festival has expanded from Jazz culture to include the Arts in general. Fashion, dance, theatre, culinary, and other music genres are some of the art forms the new Saint Lucia Jazz and Art Festival promotes.

In order to maintain that creole flavour the festival will be showcasing Bouyon music.

The original members of WCK, who now go under the name, “Original Bouyon Pioneers”, have been tasked with the responsibility of taking the crowd down memory lane with their hit songs Balance Batty, Nomn La, Mete Veye, Rollin, and others.

Also included are other genres such as R&B, Calypso Music, Dancehall Music, and Reggae Music which ramp up its popularity among tourists who are seeking to experience as much Caribbean experience as they can while on vacation.
